Kids in the Kitchen

Kids in the Kitchen A unique opportunity for K-5 students, Kids in the Kitchen is part of an overall curriculum “Rooted Beginnings” at WCDS. Each week, students will meet with course instructors Julie Cartwright and Ami Dodd where they will have a hands-on opportunity to learn not only about food and nutrition but where food comes from, how it gets to the table, culture and food, and community and food. The course will be cross curricular to include science, social studies, math, and culture studies and will be a project based learning experience. Additionally, students will work in a kitchen lab where they will take part in creating healthy fun snacks and meals.
